Exemplar Building

The 42,000 ft2, Exemplar Building is currently being constructed by Morgan Ashurst, for Blueprint, the public/private sector partnership specialising in regeneration developments in the East Midlands.  

The two storey open space office development on the Nottingham Science and Technology Park site, has undercroft car parking and external features including a wetland area which serves as dual function by being part of the Sustainable Urban Drainage System.  The building will have an adaptable layout which can be tailored to specific requirements.

The development, which includes a hotel-style lobby, concierge and free Wifi internet access, will incorporate a number of green initiatives to minimise the environmental impact of the project. These include ‘brown roof’, natural ventilation and carbon-neutral fuel. As well as creating a safe insect and plant habitat, the brown roof will also shield the building from solar damage and will help to slow down rainwater run-off. An energy pod will also be provided to create bio-mass storage and space for recycling and waste storage.

The scheme is due for completion in June 2008.
